Comedy Cafe featuring yours truly

Hey all. If you have been wondering where I have been on Monday nights previously here's your chance! I will be performing with "Mission ImproVable" at Covenant Church International's "Comedy Cafe" on June the 3rd and 4th at 7:30 each night. There will be music, improv, videos, laughter, refreshments, improv. This will be a night of fun where you get to be involved. We will be performing the scenes and games from audience suggestions. So that's why an audience is so important. There is no admission or age limit in either direction. So come check us out. Go to the link below and find directions. You can also call the church if you have any questions. Be blessed and we hope to see you there.

DC Trip Picture Set, 7 of 7!

We all saw the Lincoln Monument, and that's only one degree of separation from us actually being in a photo with it, together.

Good enough?

If not, here's the last two pics, which show us all together...

Charley's Chinese Restaurant is a place we stumble upon by chance (or providence?), while looking downtown for a place to eat. We are treated as VIPs because for the first half of our visit, we're the only people in the restaurant! We're sitting at a perfectly round table that has this turntable in the middle, so people can share & pass around food easily. Also, I thought our server was very punctual and attentive. Wouldn't you say, Kristin? ;)

An interesting experience, and a nice way to end the day!

Upon leaving there, we head along the reflecting pool towards the Lincoln Memorial. Some from our group are feeling daring; watch them walk along the edge of the water!

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Upon arrival, the group is reverently composed, though alert in anticipation. Matt, Kim, and Dara are seen here. We all head into the exhibit around 3:00 pm. It's all very engrossing; rich and compelling. We have to work to see as much as possible before the 5:30 pm closing, when visitors are ushered towards the exit.

Lifegroup Visitor

Hi all,

I'm Sandra a fellow KPICer. From Alabama, but living in Durham, and hoping to get connected and meet more young adult Christians.

I've met many of you through various things at church......but for those you I don't know I hope to see you at the lifegroup tonight.

---Sandra

Hello my lovely lifegroupers!

Say that fast 5 times!

Tis to my chargrin that I will be unable to join you guys tonight and next Monday night. I am babysitting. But the praise is that it is for megabucks and will help fund the next Kim and Amy trip and be added to my Buying-A-New-Car-In-The-Fall fund.

I will be praying for you guys and hope you have a wonderfully blessed week!

Smiling at the future,
Amy

P.S. Note that this "note" is in the closest thing they had to fuschia in the color grid. :) Yep, and that was for free.

Chris & Jon on the metro. Riding the metro is easy & fun. Colorful maps and automated fare machines make getting around a snap.

Looks like it's raining outside. Good thing we were ready. A few of the ladies here are taking advantage of the chance to relax and talk. You never know what sort of interesting things you will find to chat about on the metro.

Upon leaving the station, we stroll to the museum. Thankfully, it's not raining now. It feels nice outside.

Here's another shot of us walking towards the China-Town Metro Station. We're having fun!

Once inside, we have to make sure that we catch the right trains, so that we make it to the Holocaust Museum in time. We want to see as much as possible, and it takes a few hours to go through. You have to book your visit in advance, and you're scheduled a time when you can enter.

We're on the right track!

(No pun intended.)

Note: when I said I'd post three pics a day, I meant excluding weekends, so #3 will be on Monday. Have a good weekend!

DC Trip Picture Set, 1 of 7!

Our Life Group enjoyed a weekend trip to Washington, DC, the weekend of April 29th! Here are some photos from the outing. Since I have twenty-one photos, Matt thought it would be a good idea to post them a few at a time. So, here you've found the first installment of three images. I plan to post three pictures per day for seven days. (If any of you took pictures and need help sharing them, let me know.)

Without furthur ado...

Saturday morning, and everyone is excited, ready to head off into the capitol... The coordinators here are reviewing their game plan to get us all to the metro station (after we grab a quick bite for breakfast, of course). The lovely porch you see is at the home of a most generous couple, who basically loaned us their house for the weekend; they're friends of Sarah! (If you're reading this, thank you again!)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Here's the International Spy Museum. Very cool. Pictures aren't allowed inside, like lot of museums. If you ever get to visit, give yourself at least a couple of hours to look around. You could easily burn half a day here. Our group sees the bulk of it, and then rushes through to the end to do lunch before heading towards the Holocaust Museum...

From the Spy Museum, we're walking towards the China-Town metro station. Ahead of us, a cool-sounding funk band is playing in the street. We can't see because of the crowds surrounding, but before we vanish into the metro station I make sure to grab a couple of the free M&M candy bars some organization or company is distributing.

Sunday is Mothers' Day!

Just wanted to make sure you all knew that it's time to break out the flowers, sappy yet meaningful Hallmark cards, etc for your mothers THIS Sunday. I had a heart stop moment this morning when going through my schedule for the month and realized that time was flying a bit quicker than I thought!
